This one's for you, Marlys!

Our sister, Marlys and her husband, Paul, have four grandsons. Kolin, son of Chad and Emily, came to visit yesterday in Venice with his mom. Florida is a wonderful state. However, there is one big gap in our environment here. There aren't enough children!!! We enjoyed their visit so much! So, please excuse us if we dote on this young man a little.

Kolin is three. He is (naturally) a very bright young man who communicates very well. He lives in Chicago, so we don't get many opportunities to bond with him. He warmed up to us immediately.

We loved how he would look right at an adult to carry on a conversation. Paul sat on the floor and visited with him while he took some pictures we could share with his grandparents. My husband has a way with kids.

In this picture, I think he looks quite a bit like Andrew, his first cousin. Andrew and Paul are "best friends." Andrew smiles just like this.

In Kolin's world, everything is lined up and in order.

And, I loved how he sang while he played. One can only imagine how that touched my heart!

He asked Beth about five times if she was Grandma Marlys. You can only imagine how much that touched her heart! Do you think maybe the sound of her voice triggered those questions?

He is one happy child. Spending an afternoon with five adults didn't bother him one bit.

Good work, Chad and Emily. You are doing a great job!

Thanks for brightening our day. Hope to see you again soon, Kolin!  Keep that song in your heart!

What a handsome young man! You can always see an intelligent child just by looking in their eyes. I bet he has some really proud parents! :) Well done.

I love the photos - thanks for sharing. He is just too cute for words. His smile DOES look just like Andrew's in that one photo!

Paul has such an amazing ability with kids. :) As do you! Thanks for sharing!

My type A heart loves how he lined up his tractors. :) Guess he has some McDougall in him!
