Christmas is for kids!

We had a wonderful Christmas holiday. Children in our lives made it so.

We were able to see our niece and nephew-in-law and their daughter, Haley, the day before Christmas Eve. Every time I am with Haley, I find myself saying, "She is so cute, I just can't stand it."

She was just grasping the concept of opening presents. Haley's a quick learner, so she didn't need much help!

Christmas Eve brought family members to the ranch. Ours is an informal gathering, with an opportunity to nosh away the day.

But food wasn't on the minds of the kids who were in attendance.  Clara, our Nutcracker aficionado, was dressed as pretty as a princess. She liked the Mouse King she received from Suzanne.

Clara eagerly anticipated the arrival of our grandnephews, Tyler and Caden. She asked, "When are my boys going to get here?" I just love Tyler's happy smile.

Watching them open their gifts was a highlight of the day. Clara watched Caden carefully.

Tyler patiently waited his turn.

And Caden was most interested to watch Clara open her present.

We all laughed our way through our traditional "White Elephant" gift exchange. Tom always wins with the most unique offerings to the collection of oddities.

The most important gift for Paul and me was to be with our children. It fills our hearts to see them happy. Fortunately for Nick, Ellen gets his sense of humor!

Suzanne was able to be free for the day from work at the hospital. Her friend, Josh joined us. He was a good sport to jump right in and be part of the family celebration.

Young children who still believe in the magic of Christmas and our own children, who bring true happiness to our hearts. Just wonderful!

It is wonderful to be around kids at Christmas. Reminds me what a magical time it was when I was younger. I mean, it's still magical, it just different these days and comes a bit too fast!

The pictures and words were wonderful to read. Mike said the boys really had fun with Claire. Thank you for including our boys. It meant a lot to us and Mike, too. See you soon..It's forecast to be in the mid to upper 70's later this week!
