Paul and I decided we weren't feeling very secure
leaving our home in the winter in case we had furnace trouble and had to deal with the results.
One thing led to another and before we knew it, we had a brand new cellular security system installed, turning our house into a fortress.
Touch something around this place inside or out when this system is engaged and expect to have your ears blasted. They installed horns that will be heard throughout Dakota County.
Make one wrong move and you'll set off a motion detector.
With a touch of a button, we can have an ambulance,
fire engine
and police cars
at our house in minutes.

Peaceful sleep here at the Geier ranch.
I'm dreaming of hitting the road

That is a peaceful feeling to have security. I hope our next house has it! Even though we live in a safe neighborhood -- there's an uneasy feeling I Get going to bed at night especially when Ryan's out of town for work! Which is getting more & more frequent!
I hear you guys are about to get some winter weather up north soon - so I'm sure you are ready to travel!! :)
I had a system like that at my house and loved it.
Warning: They work!
One day I somehow hit my alarm keyfob in a manner that sent a very serious "PANIC" call to alarm company. (I didn't know the key fob could do that.)
Police officers surrounded my house - front, back, and climbing over the fence, guns drawn.
They had me on the phone, unable to convince them that I was really safe.
My husband had to come out of the house with his hands in the air!
The neighbors were all outside watching, trying to figure out what my poor husband had done. It was crazy!
Whew. Emergency services WILL show up.
Jennifer
p.s. But that quick emergency medical is pretty nifty, too.
This is wonderful - true AND hilarious.
Can't beat peace of mind, though. Now you are free to move about the universe.
